Saturday Afternoon at Jefferson Station in Philadelphia

As usual, I walk around the train station looking for people to sketch.  These days, most people are glued to their cell phones.  I find that I am not even noticed.

Waiting in Jefferson Station

This lady was waiting in Jefferson Station. She was napping which made her an easy subject to draw.
I used a Pitt Oil Base Pencil and a Prismacolor Verithin Pencil to draw it.  These two pencils work nicely together.  They flow easily.

From SEPTA Regional Rail

Much of my sketching is based on riding the rail service in Philadelphia.  These two drawings were done with Pitt Oil Based Pencil and Cretacolor Nero Lead. The sketchbook is 7x10 Canson Classic Cream.

From a Sketch to a Drawing

A rapidly done life sketch was first done in a 5x8 in Moleskine. At the studio a larger 12x16 drawing was created.
